About Us
The Substance Abuse Council is a drug prevention coalition
serving Calhoun County. The purpose is the
achievement of a healthy community through the prevention and
reduction of substance abuse with a focus on youth.
The Substance Abuse Council Provides leadership in developing a community–wide vision and plan for eliminating substance abuse in the Calhoun County community.
SAC was founded in 1986 and has grown into a model coalition over the past 21 years. SAC helps organize and mobilizes members of the community to take an active role in coalition activities. As a structured community coalition, the SAC board of Directors meets monthly. The SAC Advisory meets quarterly and is made up of over 40 coalition partners representing 12 community sectors with representation from all coalition task forces and committees.
