Since 1985, the Substance Abuse Council has sought to provide
resources necessary to educate and increase awareness and
understanding of substance abuse in our community. Below you
will find information on possible signs of substance abuse.
Signs of Substance Abuse Include:
- Changes in behavior; school/work attendance or performance
- Increased secrecy
- Lack of motivation & discipline
- Change in, or ignoring of personal appearance
- Mood swings, attitude change
- Increased borrowing of money, possibly theft
- New friends; association with drug-using peers
- Withdrawal from family, friends, and responsibilities
